Anurag Kashyap on being taken for granted and misused: People perceive me as a ‘Millionaire NGO’ | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Veteran filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, known for his candid and unfiltered views, recently shed light on the intricacies of the film industry politics, revealing that he often finds himself perceived as a ‘Millionaire NGO.’
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, the acclaimed director addressed his experiences in the industry, touching on issues of being taken for granted and manipulated.
Kashyap spoke about the politics prevalent in the film world. He emphasised that when one distances themselves from the crowd, they inevitably encounter politics, which is an inherent part of any society. However, in the context of the film industry, he pointed out that it all hinges on the industry’s conditioning and belief systems.
The maverick filmmaker explained that his extensive support for cinema led to a particular perception about him. “People think I’m some kind of a millionaire NGO who’s supposed to be there for everybody,” he shared. This perception, he revealed, often results in him being taken for granted and misused.
Kashyap further emphasised his approach to dealing with discomforting situations. He stated that instead of trying to silence others, he opts to decide how he wants to respond. If something makes him uncomfortable, he prefers avoidance over confrontation.
On the professional front, Anurag Kashyap recently appeared in the film “Haddi” alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Directed by Akshat Ajay Sharma, the movie was released on September 7th on OTT.
