Is Nayanthara upset with Atlee because of Deepika Padukone? Here is what reports say – Times of India

Nayanthara is known as the female superstar of south and her latest release Jawan opposite Shah Rukh Khan left fans and critics asking for more. And it would only be wise to assume that she will now be seen in more Hindi films, but it seems like nothing of that sort is happening. Apparently, the actress is not exactly happy with the way her character was showcased in Jawan, and it is all because of director Atlee.
As per a report by Hindustan Times, it is being suggested that Nayanthara is quite upset with Atlee because her role was chopped in the film and was sidelined significantly. On the other hand, according to her, Deepika Padukone’s character was elevated.
Though Deepika is only credited as a special appearance in the film, to many it didn’t feel that way. The source suggested that Deepika’s role was not a cameo at all and in fact, Jawan was made to look like a SRK- Deepika film. Nayanthara who is a huge star down south, hasn’t reportedly taken the snub well, which is the reason why she might not be seen in Bollywood projects as something similar might happen again. However, there is no confirmation to these reports.
It is also being suggested that it was because of this reason, she didn’t attend any promotional event of the film pre or post release. However, not many are aware that Nayanthara usually has a no promotion policy and never attends film events. It is believed that since she has had poor experiences earlier during promotions, she stays away from them, she feels that her job is to act and not get involved in promotions.
Jawan has set the records for the fastest entry into the 500 crore club in India, the film took 13 days to achieve this feat and is already challenging movies like Gadar 2, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and Pathaan to occupy the number one spot for the highest grossing film ever.
