Kangana Ranaut clarifies Emergency neither shows Congress in a poor light nor will it be released during 2024 Lok Sabha elections: It is an ode to Indira Gandhi – Times of India

Kangana Ranaut, who is all set to make her solo directorial debut with her upcoming film Emergency in which she will be seen playing the role of former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi, has responded to the allegations that her film shows Congress in a poor light.
When asked about the allegations, Kangana clarified that Emergency does not show Congress in a poor light and said that she is not sure whether it will not release around the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.She also told Times Now that her film has nothing to do with the elections or any political party.
She added that Emergency is an ode to Indira Gandhi who has been elected 3 times. She said that it is her life story whatever good and bad she did. She also mentioned that it a wrong perception to assume that she has favoured a political party in her film. Talking about the things she learned about Indira Gandhi during her research for the film, Kangana found out how the former Prime Minister was bullied by Richard Nixon. She then went on to praise Prime Minister Narendra Modi for holding the torch of humanity and said, ‘We, Indians feel so proud.’
Emergency also features late Satish Kaushik, Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry and Milind Soman in pivotal roles. The film is scheduled to release on November 24.
