One Piece live-action series RENEWED for Season 2; Eiichiro Oda sends out special message – Times of India

The live-action series One Piece has officially been renewed for a second season, marking a significant milestone for the show’s dedicated fan base.
The news comes exactly two weeks after the debut of the series on the streaming platform, Netflix. In a video released by the streaming giant, Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the manga series, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the success of the series which has dominated the top 10 slots on the streaming network around the globe.

Sharing a video on X, Oda said, “My collaboration with Netflix and Tomorrow Studios on [‘One Piece’] has been a labor of love. Just two weeks after its debut, I received exhilarating news. Netflix has greenlit another season.”

The decision to renew One Piece hardly comes as a surprise, given its resounding success, thanks to the show’s dedicated global fanbase.

In a Variety report, Marty Adelstein had previously informed the portal that scripts for a second season were already in the works. The report further claimed that fans could expect the next chapter to unfold “somewhere between a year and 18 months” from now.
As fans eagerly await Luffy’s new and exciting journey, the renewal of the series cements its place as a major hit in the world of streaming entertainment.

Based on the beloved manga and anime series of the same name, One Piece chronicles the thrilling adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a spirited young pirate on a quest to conquer the perilous Blue Sea in search of the mythical One Piece treasure. Whoever secures this legendary prize will ascend to the coveted title of King of the Pirates.

Inaki Godoy takes on the role of the intrepid Luffy, leading a talented ensemble cast that includes Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji.
Eiichiro Oda, the original creator of “One Piece,” holds an executive producer role alongside Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements.
